Sylvaner turns emotional distance into motion on “Plastic Love”

Sylvaner, the American singer-songwriter behind "Plastic Love," refines his emotional edge whilst also at last allowing us to dance. The new track comes as an audacious follow-up to Pentimento and further cements himself in preparation of his debut album, asserting him as an artist that is not afraid to make home with his emotions.

Produced and co-writer Darian Boyd with Colton Henrikson, the song shines in its delicate dance of holding back and letting go. The production pulses rather than explodes, and the rhythm imbues an after-hours sense of restlessness. It is the rare song that manages to be wistful even as it gains momentum, a study in emptiness that often rests beneath carefree longing.

"Plastic Love" grapples with the compromises of electing for pleasure over permanence, especially in settings where indulgence seems commonplace. That honesty is what gives the song its weight, grounding all that dancefloor intrigue in something deeply human.
