Lunar and The Deception unleash a spellbinding release in "Your Monsters"

Lunar and The Deception is a young rock band from London who show why they are ones to watch, with their new single “Your Monsters.” Led by Britt Xyra Dusk’s ghostly melodies, the song is a bewitching blend of celestial synths, Marchlike drums and theatrical strings that thrusts listeners into an intimate yet expansive world. "Your Monsters’ sweeps you into an enveloping, lush soundscape. Greg Chapter’s guitar is a foil for Michael Rendall synth textures and they dance a bittersweet waltz that provides as much harmony to the song as balancing out its percussive energy. Drummer Andrew Seel roots the track in tribal-like melody.

Thomas Hammond’s synthesizer lines introduce a shimmering, otherworldly glimmer. By adding Héloïse Werner’s cello and Barbara Bartz’s violin at different points in the arrangement, music becomes  cinematic and  orchestral, a sound that lingers long after the song ends. “Your Monsters” manages to balance drama with calm. The band’s chemistry is obvious, with every member laying down a ,melodic landscape that manages to be enveloping rather than suffocating. the song that begs for repeated listens, each subsequent listen unearthing a different detail, an obscured texture, a shift in clinical euphoria.

Lunar and The Deception have constructed something that sounds timeless yet hugely of its time in “Your Monsters." A brave, modern effort that serves as an absolute point of proof that rock music can still be breathtakingly cinematic and daring if you’re imaginative enough with it.
