Chevas Phillips returns with inspirations on “Stories”

Chevas Phillips, New York City-based, Atlanta-bred singer-songwriter delivers uplifting anthem “Stories.” An emotional assertion of faith and victory, the soul-stirring tune serves up comforting vibes in a time of peril. Scheduled to come out last year, the tune was put on hold after Chevas suffered a medical emergency that left her voiceless for several months. Coming out of that silence, here she is with a track that sounds not just triumphant but personal.

Co-written by Mia Fields, Anne Wilson and Jonathan Smith, also of production duties, "Stories” is not just gospel music, it’s an ode to divine intervention, that goddamn power of perseverance. Led by warm harmonies and soaring arrangements, the song is a welcoming invitation for listeners to step into a story of hope and steadfast faith.

“Stories” is not simply about a personal transformation, it urges listeners to look into their own lives, to hum along and believe alongside Chevas, taking comfort in the same spirit that got her through her darkest days. This is gospel music with a story, a testimony and a dash of unshakable joy.
