Fast Money Music (Nick Hinman), from London, is back with his new single “Unfortunately,” composed by a young man who goes through the cycle of love and speed when relationships go off track. The heart of the song is less about love and more about that slippery, mysterious place between hanging on and letting go, those little stretches where you can feel a choice as if it were weight against your skin, but keep struggling toward the unknown anyway.
Born from sessions at Hackney Road Studios and in Hinman’s own Dalston studio space, “Unfortunately” reflects the intimacy of a home-recorded confession but polishes its sound to feel just right in any semi-zeitgeisty pop-leaning playlist. Hinman wrote and recorded the track himself, with additional production from Mikko Gordon, giving it a sound that is both sharp and emotionally exposed.
“Unfortunately” leaves you hanging in that silence, unfulfilled space where relationships so often reside. Fast Money Music’s made a track that's honest in it's measure, fitting the idea that the best songs are the ones you can’t shake and that don’t quite let you go.
