Erin LeCount is back with latest release “I BELIEVE”

Erin LeCount, the London-based singer-songwriter, is back with “I BELIEVE,” a new release that’s less of a song and more of whispered confession over a heart-pounding synth-pop pulse. Written and produced by LeCount herself and out on Atlantic Records, the song nails a raw emotional part, one that many listeners will easily identify.

“I BELIEVE” comes from a place of distrust, It examines what happens when beliefs are no longer comforting but feels instead like an unavoidable cage. Unstoppable synth-pop basslines and whipping electronic drums pushes the body forward, a danceable sadness music for when your heart aches, but standing still would hurt more.

LeCount sets up the song as a kind of meditation on a year spent doing everything right. Acquiring the right things, obeying rules, improving and purging yet somehow it never quite creates that feeling of basic wrongness. Ultimately, the song is about refusing to accept the idea that guilt, punishment  will ever make us whole. “I BELIEVE” serves as a reminder that you can’t delegate purpose and sometimes the most real belief is in admitting you’re still looking.
