Sombr strikes again with “Homewrecker”

Shane Boose aka sombr, American singer-songwriter returns with this electrifying new single, "Homewrecker." The track plays out like the cinematic continuation of his previous work, in both storytelling and its lush, multi-layered production, it’s overflowing with a bright new energy that refuses to be overlooked. "Homewrecker" after his highly introspective debut album "I Barely Know Her," written and produced by sombr himself, with notes from Tony Berg on production and Gregg White.

"Homewrecker" is clear evidence of an artist devoted to the craft. The instrumentation alone gives the track its identifiability, Benny Block’s keyboards are desert-sunset shimmering, Kane Ritchotte’s drums throb with a bold, driving pulse, in-demand session guitarist Mason Stoops and Rocket Ritchotte  trade guitar lines that sizzle with tension and Wendy Melvoin, yes, of Wendy & Lisa, anchors the story “Borders” with understated groove on bass. There’s an intention to every note, and although it takes a simple approach, there are so many layers of sounds that the song is very much like a piece of music.

"Homewrecker" is an audacious affirmation that sombr is growing his sound, and developing his sense of narrative, with each subsequent release. For those who like their music with a side of heart-on-sleeve songwriting and big-screen grandeur this track offers both in abundance. It is a further sign that sombr is conceptualizing full experiences, and Homewrecker is an exhilarating journey from beginning to end.
