Sofia Gobbi owns her fear and freedom on her new single "idk"

Sofia Gobbi is back, and she's louder, braver, bolder than ever. After a summer of straight-up bangers that include "Game" and the viral hit "That Ass!", drops "idk," a song that turns anxiety into an anthem and self-doubt into self-discovery.

From its opening guitar strum, "idk" crackles with confident music from rock's edge, something that's nourishing just for how rough it is. It's Sofia at her rawest, swinging between heartbreak and transcendence, fear and freedom. Her vocals cut through the song with a sense of menace, capturing that age-old tension of longing for love while feeling terrified at how vulnerable it can leave you.

For Sofia Gobbi, "idk" was born out of that uncomfortable place where happiness seems to be too good to be true, when falling in love feels borderline criminal, as though you're getting away with doing something transgressive, the nerves and sweaty palms that, ironically enough, are channeled into her song about fleeting connection.

The production fits that emotional tug-of-war perfectly, bright and punchy, with just the right touch of chaos. It's indie pop with teeth, sounding like early Olivia Rodrigo grit or Nieve Ella's melodic flair. However, it still has Sofia Gobbi written all over it. "idk" is an anthem for the overthinkers, for the hopefuls, for those who love hard even when they're afraid.
